My yard is my nature preserve and i work in and on it all the time to attract whatever type of wildlife that wants to visit.

Social Networking

I have been using social networking sites for over 10 years now, blogging about many different things, starting an running many types of groups on different sites. For the last five years i have been using one site to post most of my blogs to, that site is Multiply. Multiply has been a great blogging site over the years.

About a year ago it sold out to a larger online company, one that deals with online e-commerce, another words selling stuff online - be it good stuff or just plain junk. Even after the sell the same CEO and Staff maintained control of Multiply, but there were changes which were expected. Most of the staffs time and work was directed to the online shops that were in and drawn to Multiply.

This past week a post was made in the Staff Blog to let everyone know that a new CEO and Staff would be taking over - a real shocker since the CEO that was being replaced was one of the founders of Multiply nine years ago. The new CEO is based in Indonesia where Multiply will be run from now on. No word yet on if an/or when the equipment may or will be moved over there from Florida.

Many users think this will be the end to one of the best blogging sites left on the web. Its really to bad since many of us have been thru closure of blogging sites before. A lot of users in Multiply came from places like Yahoo 360 and MSN Groups, which both closed down. They feel that blogging will come to a end in Multiply in the future either sooner or later.

Some like myself have been using Blogger or Word Press, neither compare to Multiply. A recent article posted somewhere commented that the average social networking user stayed around about two years or so then drifted away to do other things. Are we really starting to see the end of social networking as we have known it. I think we may very well be seeing the final decline of it into a - i remember those sites - situations.

Yes there is Facebook , but it sure isnt a blogging site, and has many problems. Its more of a family/friends message board set up a little different than a actual message board. While its a nice place to keep up with family and close friends all its for is quick notes to each other.

Google+ combined with Blogger is getting closer to being the last place for bloggers esp those that post to the public tobe able to blog. Google+ is fine but they keep doing so much to it that having a high speed internet connection is nearly a have to have to use it. To bad about that since it does limit some users around the world.
