Backyard Saturday

All kinds of things going on in the backyard now.

Plants are coming up faster, hopefully flowers will be blooming in a few more weeks, some have bloomed weeks ago others are just now coming up. I think the weather has nature as mixed up as it has me.

I now have four odd ball tomato plants out - Lemon Boy ,,Pink Brandywine ,, Cherokee Purple,,and Black Krim.
Lemon Boy is a hybrid,, Black Krim is a Heirloom,, the other two are Indeterminate.

Mowed both front an back yard Saturday, yep all in the same day which i generally do not do. I try hard to get it where one Saturday i mow the front then the next the back, that way i dont have to spend a lot of time mowing.

I finally got to try out the new little chainsaw thats Cindy got an brought up for me to test out, i still owe her half the price for it since we will be sharing it.
Its a Worx Jawsaw , light weight, an i had my doubts about it at first since they run ads on tv about it, but its sold in several of the top stores.
Setting it up was easy and simple,, really everything is simple about it. Best of all it actually works.
It cuts good an easy to clean out when small stuff gets stuck in it. No kick back like a regular chainsaw.
It is electric so you really need to watch your electric cord just like with any electric outside tool.
It sure has cut my clean up time down, in a few minutes i had several branches cut up into small pieces..

I have not been putting bird seed out as much as i usually do, dont want the birds to get to dependant on me feeding them. Stlll have a lot of dove hanging around in the yard, with a variety of other birds.
Still seeing the rabbits every now an then , but very few squirrels this year still.
I miss seeing the hawk that was staying around here and i havent heard the owl hooting in many months, it was nice hearing him in the evenings when he was around.

Butterfly bushes are blooming big time and looking good. Gave up looking for another one an just started filling in the bed with flowers. still have some room in the bed but need to finish cleaning it up.
Waiting for the trumpet vine to start blooming now , it should start soon.

Stll have more things to plant but i will get it done in the next couple of weeks.
