The Backyard

Well yesterday (Saturday) i decided that even if there was work that needed done i would give the yard and myself a break.

So i did very little yardwork.

Got the front yard mowed , made the robins happy since they could find worms easier, the vibration of the mower draws them closer to the surface.

More tire planters were gotten from my neighbor, they really do work and come in different sizes, best of all it keeps them out of a landfill.
I have been using a couple for years and the only problem, if you want to call it that, is that you really need to clean them out when it starts to get cold or at least before new growth starts coming up in the spring.

More plants showed up, peonias i believe, so those will have to be planted soon. A couple will go in the front yard flower bed which i started cleaning out a little better on Saturday evening. I let the bed just sit every now an then an do nothing to it, it actually started out as a butterfly bush bed but then i added to it, so i dont keep it cleaned out real good.

Sometime last night it started to rain, not a heavy rain thank goodness , just a gentle rain coming down that will soak the ground good, just what i needed in the yard.

This week will be a test week of a new small chainsaw, one that has been advertised on tv recently. Its lightweight an enclosed so it will only cut smaller limbs an trees, 4 inch max.
Its electric which is no problem since i have a 100 ft drop cord that will reach nearly to the back fence.

Thats it for this Saturday backyard report.
